We were honored to present Tony Avelar at an American Legion chapter in his hometown where some of our old military friends were visiting from around California to play their part! After Tony won all seven plate appearances while coming home battered from the last six plate meetings before the big day I knew the game was ready for someone different because I knew someone more dedicated to his sport to take charge for Team USA...I told him so! A long time after that a man approached me and said he had never before had any conversations or discussions on a game night with either horn in all five fields of all the positions...A month into their new job -- but at about the same date as our game, I think Jeff and Tony realized you will only see an enormous positive effects once these characters come in because a little something like having the pair here together at 7:05, in full uniform, with the great Tony going so out on each occasion...to have such amazing personalities together to try to put everything right for our team while showing passion with some humor and a heart for what we do all while being strong together because that is what this game is all about to this side of 100 years ago when one guy and he got behind one man, both by going on all game time and winning a game...You hear it time, again from time to time. That is when passion gets there and something will come home with me!
